Fostering Students Academic Success

“All year, we pursue our mission through communications, fundraising and awareness events, advocacy, and grant-writing.”

Fundraising

Friends of the Library holds multiple fundraising events throughout the school year. We also have fundraisers which contribute to variable amount monthly through grocery store rewards cards or shopping online with eScrip online mall. We constantly come up with easy and accessible ways for students and the community to help better the RBHS library.

Advocacy

Our organization’s focus is increasing the funds for quality learning material and staffing for the RBHS library. In order to achieve this, donations for books and advocating the importance of library assistants is imperative. We encourage the community to address the reduction of funding and library assistants to the PUSD school board.

Grants

We have a dedicated Grant Writer who seeks every opportunity to apply for grants – big and small. A number of our grant applications have been successful and repeated year after year. On May 6, 2014  we participated in the 24-hour GiveBIG! donation drive organized by the San Diego Foundation where donors are invited to donate online to the charity of their choice.
